SkullCandy Crusher Wireless Headphones Review

Trail Building and tunes are an undeniable combo. Working all day with the right music can really add to the experience and keep your vibes right for your projects! There’s also a need for ear protection when you work with and around any kind of machines or equipment- after all, you only get one set of ears! My favorite setup so far has been my Skullcandy Crusher Wireless headphones.

Initial Impression: When I first bought these four years ago, they were way more expensive. They retailed for $200, and I was pumped to catch them on sale for $150. Since then, they’ve dropped to $80. With that original price, I had high expectations, and they deliver! Huge sound with a slider to control the bass level, easy Bluetooth setup, and long battery life gave me high hopes.

Fit & Feel: Great ear coverage and a wide padded band over the top keep things comfy. Depending on your hat/ glasses setup, there can sometimes be some pressure points after a few hours, but that’s easy to adjust. I also have gauges in my ears, and these headphones work well with them as long as I adjust everything later in the day.

Trail Building Pros: I can wear them all day comfortably, and they block the noise of the machines effectively. They also do a great job of keeping my ears warm. While they aren’t noise cancelling, they do a good job of damping the outside sounds and let me run a lower volume rather than constantly trying to drown out the noise with louder music. The bass slider is nice for adjusting to your mood. I can quickly crank up the bump to get fired up, but then tone it down to settle into a mellower vibe. There’s also an easy to tap button that pauses the music for when you need to listen to the outside world for a moment or talk to a teammate. Finally, the battery life is amazing, and they charge up quickly when it does get low.

Durability: Four years of use and abuse has taken a toll on their appearance, but they are still hanging in and performing well. Like most of us trail builders- we make look a bit haggard, but we still do good work!

I keep that thang on me. Morning mantra: eyes, ears, hands, food, water, shelter.

You only get one set of ears, so it’s wise to protect them. Plus, music can really dial in the mindset. What’s your soundtrack?
